This depends on the individual skin type and personal requirements. As a guide: From the mid-20s, our skin's ability to store moisture slowly diminishes and begins to age. To start with high-quality skin care at this age, we like to recommend our Cleansing Foam and our Hydromask, which compensates for the incipient loss of moisture. From the early 30s, the first lines and wrinkles usually start to appear. Day and Night Care products can be richer and contain skin-firming active ingredients.

No. But there are strong parallels to natural cosmetics at cicé: we use a lot of natural oils and plant extracts, avoid mineral oils, kerosenes, parabens and microplastics and provide transparent information about the ingredients on our website - just as natural cosmetics manufacturers do. The difference to natural cosmetics is that we also use synthetically produced active ingredients to achieve an active anti-aging effect. More information on this can be found in the next question.

When we talk about anti-aging, we need to distinguish between two phenomena: Firstly, the slowing down of skin ageing through moisture and nourishing oils and secondly, an active reduction in wrinkles, bags under the eyes and sagging skin. This active effect is achieved with bioactive peptides and other synthetically produced active ingredients that stimulate collagen synthesis, strengthen the capillary walls, relax facial expressions or plump up the skin.

The seal means that this product contains active ingredients for active anti-aging. In other words, active ingredients that not only slow down skin ageing, but also demonstrably reduce wrinkles and bags under the eyes. Further information can be found in the previous question.

Here we recommend an intensive application of the cicé Hydromask. Apply the mask richly to the dry areas in the evening for at least ten consecutive days and ideally apply cicé Night Care over it. Leave both to work overnight and repeat the intensive application until the dry areas have disappeared.

A regular cleansing routine (morning and evening) with the cicé Cleansing Foam and the cicé Toner is important. In the evening, you can apply the cicé Peeling Serum after the toner and leave it to work overnight. It removes horny skin particles and moisturizes the skin, but not oil. The result is a delicate, fine-pored complexion.

For blemished and oily skin, in addition to proper care, diet also plays a major role. Reduce dairy products, sugar and trans fatty acids (in baked goods, sweets and convenience foods). Eat more omega-3 containing foods (fish and nuts) as well as fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

Also, be careful not to squeeze pimples, as this irritates the skin and makes it worse. Wash your hands regularly and avoid touching your face if possible, because the surfaces of your hands are where most bacteria reside.  

During puberty, the organism secretes androgens. This hormonal change leads to increased sebum production. If the excess sebum cannot drain away, it settles in the pores and blackheads, pimples and acne develop. In addition, the T-zone becomes greasier. Aggressive products can damage the protective layer of the skin. The face should be washed thoroughly in the morning and evening with lukewarm water and a mild cleansing product such as cicé Cleansing Foam. Overnight, we recommend a gently exfoliating product such as cicé Peeling Serum to unclog pores. During the day, a light day cream with skin-soothing ingredients should be used.

For expression lines (frown lines, forehead wrinkles, crow's feet) we recommend cicé Deep Lift. It contains a combination of various highly effective substances that - similar to Botox, but much weaker - relax the facial muscles.

Yes, very good even! We have many regular male customers. In men, skin aging sets in a little later, but faster - bags under the eyes and the first wrinkles become clearly visible in the late 30s.

Male skin produces more fat and therefore requires less of it in skin care. The skin's own oil can clog the pores, so thorough facial cleansing and regular exfoliation are important for a clear complexion. 

Men's care with cicé in three steps:
1. Clogged pores disappear with regular use of cicé Cleansing Foam and cicé Peeling Serum.
2. Plenty of moisture! At night, the oil-free cicé Hydromask should be used.
3. cicé Deep Lift increases skin elasticity and counteracts expression lines. The cicé Eye Care reduces bags under the eyes and dark circles.

Time and again, we get feedback like this: customers with irritated skin, neurodermatitis, rosacea, couperose or age-related acne finally feel they are in good hands with cicé after an often long ordeal. But why is cicé so well tolerated by very sensitive, irritated or even diseased skin? Of course, we avoid irritating and allergenic ingredients. But the secret is the skin-soothing, wound-healing and anti-inflammatory active ingredients. They soothe redness, irritation and impurities - and the skin finally comes to rest. Also part of the cicé routine: the gentle Cleansing Foam, which does not disturb the pH value of the skin and does not remove any oils, and the Peeling Serum, which reduces strong cornifications in acne and refines the skin's appearance.

All Skincare products can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. We occasionally receive inquiries about vitamin A in Night Care as well as in exfoliating serum. At 0.1%, the vitamin A content in cicé Night Care is so low that it poses no risk. The main active ingredients in the Peeling Serum are citric acid, lactic acid and malic acid. These active ingredients are safe for pregnant and nursing women. Skepticism could stem from the active ingredients glycolic acid and salicylic acid, which should not enter the blood in high doses during pregnancy. For this, however, the substances would have to be taken orally in high concentrations. The cicé Peeling Serum contains 0.04% glycolic acid and 0.008% salicylic acid and is only applied externally. If there is still any uncertainty, we recommend that you seek a second opinion from your gynecologist.

The products are stable for two to three years unopened. For the oil-free products cleansing foam, toner, hydromask and exfoliating serum, it is more like three to four years. After that, the products are still effective, but may have small changes in odor and consistency.

Once opened, the products have an official shelf life of 12 months. However, since we use airless dispensers for almost all skincare products (except toner, hand care and cleansing foam), our products do not come into contact with oxygen or bacteria even when used. This aspect is not taken into account in the tests to determine shelf life. The 12 months should therefore be understood as a minimum figure and will be significantly higher in most cases.

The pH value of all products is between 5 and 5.5 - i.e. in the skin-friendly range below 6. The pH value of the cicé Peeling Serum is even lower at 4.1-4.3 due to the fruit acids.

Fragrance is necessary for some products in order to mask the smell of the natural oils or active ingredients. We perfume these products very lightly with 0.2 to 0.3%. The essential oils we use include citronellol, limonene and hexyl cinnamal. In our opinion, essential oils are the best option – this is also the view of most natural cosmetics manufacturers. Many other fragrances contain polycyclic musks, which are much more critical than essential oils, but do not have to be listed on the packaging. The cleansing foam, the hydromask and the hand care are unscented. The toner is perfumed but contains no essential oils.

Both our skincare and our supplements can be combined with other brands without any problems. Just remember to choose products without mineral oils, kerosenes, silicone oils, parabens, microplastics and other critical ingredients - otherwise the positive effect of cicé is invalidated.

For reasons of compatibility, we do not perfume Cleansing Foam, Hydromask and Hand Care at all, and the other products only minimally. This minimal perfuming wears off somewhat over time. The products are still just as effective, but the inherent odor of the plant extracts and natural oils is more noticeable.

By the way, in our samples, the scent fades much faster than the products. Therefore, the smell of the products is usually perceived as more pleasant.
