The vegan cicé Sunscreen contains moisturizing glycerin, skin-soothing panthenol and nourishing peach kernel oil. The antioxidant vitamin E provides effective protection against the sun's infrared radiation and free radicals produced by UV radiation, which cause the skin to age faster.
The organic photoprotective filters Tinosorb S, Uvinul A Plus, Goldmann DHBT and Goldmann PBSA are photostable, have a low allergy potential and have not shown hormonal effects in studies. They are therefore a safe alternative to mineral light protection filters, which leave a white film on the skin and can dry it out.
The Sunscreen is free of microplastics and does not contain any light protection filters that are suspected of damaging coral reefs.
UV filters should protect against both UVA and UVB rays. The UVB rays cause sunburn and the UVA rays age the skin. The sun protection factor tells how much longer you are protected from UVB rays with the product than without. For UVA protection, on the other hand, you have to look for the UVA seal. This is only given if the UVA protection is at least one third of the UVB protection. The UVA protection of the cicé Sunscreen is 15, which is half of the UVB protection with sun protection factor 30.
SPF 30 is the best choice in most sun situations from our holistic, not just skin aging, perspective. Completely blocking out UV light with SPF 50 is good for the skin – but not for the rest of the body: a growing number of scientists are warning of a dramatic and often consequential vitamin D deficiency in our latitudes, and a 2021 study has shown for the first time that a lack of UV light promotes the development of multiple sclerosis. That's why at cicé we take a prudent middle course that takes into account the needs of both the skin and the whole body.
